Making money from Surveys?

Thanks to Sue for telling me about this one who recently got her first £50 cheque and is already up another £10.

Now I’m a little dubious about filling in surveys for money, it just sounds too good to be true and I’m not sure if they’re actually worth the time and effort

I don’t know how many surveys you get sent or what the pay out is like for each one you do, I suppose it depends on what companies you’re working for, but some people seem to make money from them, like Sue who kindly told me about it.
I just did a quick search on some forums and the response is mixed. Some people seem to be getting payouts and some people say it’s a complete waste of time. As I have no experience of them I thought I’d join and see for myself and then report my earnings here.
YouGov claims to ‘pay out thousands of pounds to members each month,’ so let’s see how long it takes me to reach the £50 pay out.

I just joined. It didn’t take long and already my account is up £1 for becoming a member and on further reading, I quite like the thought of ‘having my say’ by filling in surveys and it making a difference. I’m beginning to wonder what type of surveys I’ll be sent and the questions on them. Will they ask me my thoughts on road traffic or the really annoying shampoo adverts? Will they want to know what I think about skinny jeans or Gordon Brown? Oh the information is just waiting to come out of me!

Just found out that another way to make money on these survey thingies and it’s by referral. You send people to join and your account gets credit. So if you have a website, blog or just want to email your friends and family it means you can earn some money for sending them to YouGov.

So kind people, if any of you fancy joining me in this survey filling out experiment, please do it through this link and become my referral…

I’m going to have a look and see if there are any other interesting ones to join. This does have the possibility to become slightly addictive and I should be doing some writing for a recent commission that I got, never mind, it seems like I’ve found another way to spend time fannying about on t’internet!
