Film Extra
Anyone fancy becoming a film extra?
I’m going to do a full page about this soon, but unitl I get chance, I thought I’d just do a few notes here. Mainly because Casting Collective, the casting agency based in London, has opened thier books for applications. You can apply online and from what I’ve seen of the application form, it seems pretty straightforward.
A few things to remember before applying:
- You need to have a flexible work schedule
- You need to be able to work long days that often start very, very early!
- You will be waiting around for long periods of time
- You have to be happy and cheerful, even at the 101 take of a scene
Quick look at the rates shows you can earn around £70 a day for being ‘part of the crowd.’
UPDATE: Thanks to PDJ for pointing out that although the books are technically now open, many people who register will probably, if accepted, work their first job in 2009 - quite a way off, so be prepared!!
