National Work from Home Day - 15th May

She was completley transparent with me

National Work from Home Day is fast approaching.
Millions of UK workers will enjoy a two second commute, starting work without the smell of car fumes, and some will work in their PJ’s.  Will you be one of them?

Loads of us could do our job from home if we wanted to.
My sister has just started to work from home - yesterday was her first official day. I popped round for lunch to see how she was getting on. She was getting on fine. The work that normally takes her all morning and most of the afternoon was done, she was enjoying her lunch break on time and she had an air of productivity about her, (which is more than could be said for me as I spent all morning wrestling with a broken printer – but that is another post completely.)

The happy-work-at-home day yesterday was helped by the fact that the sun was out and we could eat our sandwiches in the back garden, we didn’t have to search for a bench, or queue up for a sandwich or watch a lorry reverse and breath in the fumes, we felt…a tiny bit free.
As I’ve worked from home for a while now I’d completely forgotten the liberation and novelty the first home-working day brings, so I was glad that I could enjoy it with my sister yesterday.
If you plan to take part in the day, fab.  And if not, best get planning now…bombard your company with the idea - because once you’ve proved that you can work from home, you’ve opened the door to it being a full time option.

Stumble it!
