Simple travel writing
This site based in the UK are looking for submissions of attractions to add to their directory.
Basically, you have to find a place that can be described as an ‘attraction’ for tourists. Then take a photo and a quick description and submit it to the site. They pay £4 for each entry, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but, if you take a day out to hunt down all the attractions in your area, you could earn up to £80 for some sight seeing, which would buy a few extra Christmas presents.
I would suggest not going too far, because you don’t want to spend ages travelling, but arrange a day where you can stop off at about 20 or so different locations.
Think creatively - what you might not consider an ‘attraction’ because it’s on your doorstep, others might.
They accept all kinds of attractions as their website states: ‘We are after any and all attractions… museums, churches, parks, monuments, lakes, mountains… pretty much anything at all (within reason!) that would be of interest to tourists’
So think far and wide, do you have a church of interest with some history on your doorstep? Is there a lake nearby? What is that park that holds a festival in the summer? Are there any craft markets on in the town hall? Does your town centre have an interesting sculpture? The ideas go on, so if you need some extra cash, get your notepad and your camera. Pack a winter picnic and spend the day as a tourist in your own home. Just check that the attractions are not already listed and away you go!
