Working as event staff
I’ve never done this, but it seems like a good way to earn some extra cash and possibly have a bit of fun at the same time.
From what I can gather, it’s quite a predictable job; the role seems to be that you stand at a exhibition, sports event, music concert or retail outlet whilst something or someone is ‘launched.’
The right type of personality obviously helps, I don’t think you’d get far in this role if you were shy or awkward about talking to strangers, as I imagine you have to approach members of the public to create a certain amount of ‘awareness’ about said product or person. I also imagine that you have to be fairly flexible with this kind of role, much the same as working as a film extra, you’ll get short notice on when you’re expected to be at an event, but with pay ranging from £85 - £120 per day, if you join enough agencies it might work as another stream of income.
XMfactor are holding an open day in London this November, but there it seems that there are lots of agencies always accepting applicants, here are just a few that I found from a quick search
